Researching Chiropractic: More Case Studies

Chiropractic clinical case histories have been a regular feature of our patient newsletter since its inception. There seems to be no limit to the health problems that respond to chiropractic care.

Chiropractors release serious stress (subluxations) from your body. This releases energy for healing, regeneration, and growth.

All people (especially children) need a body free of blockages and stress so they’ll have strong, happy, and healthy lives.

How many people suffering, on drugs, facing a life of limitation could be helped by chiropractic care?

Probably most of them.

Below are some clinical cases illustrating the potential of chiropractic adjustment to correct subluxations.

Breech baby turns after chiropractic care. Untitled design - 2021-07-29T163256.628

A 26-year-old female in her 27th week of pregnancy with her second child presented for a chiropractic visit after experiencing low back pain. One week later an ultrasound determined the baby was in a breech position. She had a previous natural birth with no complications and was beginning chiropractic care with hopes of avoiding a cesarean section.

After a series of chiropractic adjustments, the baby moved from a breech position to a normal vertex (or head down) position confirmed through ultrasound. (1)

Glaucoma, carpal tunnel, hand numbness, and chiropractic care. Untitled design - 2021-07-29T163323.582

A 40-year-old woman suffering from numbness in her arms and hands, and other problems such as neck and shoulder pain, dizziness, headaches, migraines, vertigo, anxiety, low back pain, right hip pain and clicking, numbness in the bottom of her feet, chronic fatigue, and cervical and lumbar intervertebral disc “problems” began chiropractic care.

Subluxations were located in her sphenoid (cranial bone), occiput (base of the skull), neck (C1, C2, C5, C7), sacrum, and coccyx (tailbone). The patient reported moderate improvement in low back pain and headaches, much improvement in neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain and clicking, and dizziness, and resolved numbness in both her hands and feet. By the 15th visit, she reported a 90% overall improvement and decided to cancel scheduled carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) surgery.

She had also been diagnosed with borderline glaucoma that was steadily worsening. Glaucoma is increased pressure inside the eyeball (intraocular) and is the second leading cause of blindness. By her 15th visit, her intraocular pressure had dropped and her ophthalmologist felt that medical intervention was no longer necessary. (2)

Arnold-Chiari malformation, headaches, motion sickness, and hearing deterioration. Untitled design - 2021-07-29T163453.580

A six-year-old male diagnosed with vertebral subluxation and Arnold-Chiari malformation suffered from headache, motion sickness, and progressive hearing deterioration.

The boy’s chiropractic examination consisted of spinal heat reading and X-rays. A subluxation was detected at C1 – the top cervical or neck vertebrae – and the patient was adjusted there. A post adjustment X-ray analysis determined that more care was needed at C2 after which the child received a C2 adjustment. After the first adjustment, the patient reported that his headaches had been eliminated. (3)

Researching Chiropractic: Numbness & Tingling, Nursing Issues, and Doggy Chiro

How many people suffering, on drugs, facing a life of limitation could be helped by chiropractic care?  Probably most of them. The following are 3 case studies of people just you who were helped by chiropractic care. Do you know someone who might benefit from our care? Please share this with them.

Pain, weakness, numbness and tingling in the armpalm-1590162_1920

Two months before starting chiropractic care a woman began experiencing radicular symptoms in the form of pain, weakness, numbness and tingling in all the fingers in her right hand.

Prior to seeing the chiropractor, the patient saw a medical doctor who took X-rays as well as prescribed anti-inflammatory medication and a steroid injection. In addition, a physical therapist was seen three times per week for finger rehabilitation. Her condition did not change.   An MRI revealed multilevel disc protrusions in her neck, spondylosis and spinal stenosis. It was recommended that she have a surgical evaluation. She refused.

After 26 visits, over a period of 100-days, improvements were observed on both X-ray and MRI along with a reduction in all her symptoms. (1)

Inability to nurse twinsbaby-507335_1920

Two weeks after the birth of twin girls the new mother was seen for care. She complained of an inability to initiate a let-down reflex and was not producing enough milk. She also complained of neck, shoulder pain and vasospasms (an arterial spasm restricting blood flow) in her breast.

Chiropractic examination revealed subluxations in her upper thoracic (mid back) region and cranial restrictions.

Adjustments were delivered to the thoracic area (T3-T5). The mother immediately felt more sensation in her breast, specifically the nipple and areola. She also reported the ability to relax her shoulders and achieve deeper inhalation during nursing. She produced double the amount of breastmilk as she had previously. She was feeling emotionally more stable and even optimistic about maintaining her nursing schedule with the twins. An updated exam at ten months postpartum showed that she was still successfully nursing both twins. (2)

Cauda equina syndrome in a 7-year-old dachshund.foxhound-53951_1280

All animals with a spine can develop vertebral subluxations. Like their humans, dogs have subluxations too. In this case a 7-year-old dachshund was experiencing a decrease in appetite, defecation issues, decreased reflexes in his hind legs and could not do a full body shake. Similar symptoms occur in humans with herniated discs and it’s called “cauda equine syndrome.” X-rays confirmed that this dog had an L1/L2 (upper lumbar) disc herniation.

The owner described the dog as always being “a very active dog and still is. He would jump everywhere….” One day the dog started whining and would not jump onto the couch, but rather would lay on the floor and did not eat much. The dachshund had two chiropractic adjustments and all the symptoms were alleviated: hind leg reflexes returned, as did his appetite, and (to the relief of the owner) bladder and bowel control.

After the second visit the owner of the patient reported the dog was “totally back to normal;” he was able to do a full body doggy shake. (3)

Hand numbness and neck pain in a 46-year-old womanhand numbness

A woman with hand numbness and neck pain began chiropractic care. Spinal analysis revealed that she had upper cervical (neck) subluxations, concurrent nervous system imbalance, a loss of the normal cervical curve and spinal degeneration.

Over a 4-month period she received 8 chiropractic adjustments.

Her neck pain decreased from 4/10 to 0/10 and her hand numbness completely resolved after two months of care.
